Historical Flight Foundation Eastern Air Lines DC-7B
Teterboro, NJThe Historical Flight Foundation brought their Eastern Air Lines DC-7B (N836D) to Teterboro, NJ this week, following appearances at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 and the 2010 Thunder Over Michigan Air Show. The DC-7B, originally delivered to Eastern Airlines in 1958, is flying again after an extensive six-year restoration, and returned to the sky on July 4, 2010. I saw this week the arrival of the plane at San Juan International Airport. it brought me fond memories of
Eastern’s fleet specially the Constellations and the Lockheed Electra’s. Those original colors were my favorites. I hated when they changed the colors for the DC-8′s and others..
I even remembered when the Connie’s flew out of the old Isla Grande Airport, where they flew over the
bridges connecting old San Juan to Santurce.
